Captain Brigadier Vithusha was another prominent female leader in the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), embodying resilience and courage during the war between the Sri Lankan government and LTTE. She played a pivotal role in commanding her unit and was instrumental in advancing the LTTE’s objectives on the battlefield.
Vithusha, like Brigadier Thurka, symbolized the empowerment of women in combat roles, breaking traditional gender barriers in a highly militarized environment. Her leadership demonstrated a blend of strategic acumen and bravery, inspiring both her peers and the next generation of fighters within the LTTE.
She was also among the many LTTE leaders whose life was tragically cut short during the final stages of the war. Young people can learn from her strength and determination. She showed that true leadership is defined by courage, vision, and perseverance. Her legacy continues to inspire those striving for change and equality.
